OK, I'm daft but I will be in Las Vegas at the end of July for a family wedding -anything going on rugby-wise?

Will you still be there in August? August 4th they have a midnight sevens tournament.

Bear in mind that in July you can barely be outdoors in Vegas during the daytime, it's too unbearably hot.

I have not, but I've heard good things about it.

Are you 21 yet Simon? Important consideration for Vegas.

When I was out in LA in January, I had heard that the team who organise this (The Las Vegas Blackjacks) have dropped the ball recently and have let the tournament turn to crap.

A major problem is that many teams dont show up for the 2nd day, as they are too busy gambling on the strip to give a toss about rugby. Consolation games rarely happen, and by the end of it nobody cares.

Bryan, I think you are refering to vegas 15's tournament that was dropped a couple years back. I'll agree that many teams failed to show up on the second day. I played in that tourny my first couple years in university, then they pushed back the dates into Dec and we couldn't attend due to final exams.

As for the Vegas 7's, the vegas team dropped the ball and it has been cancelled. It used to be a one day 7's tournament, last game ending around midnight or 1AM. Post game parties were usually at "your favorite casino" and "your favorite strip club." Oh the found memories.

In my opinion, Las Vegas Rugby has the best home field advantage!
