    In touch?

I would apply 18.2b. It covers the player standing in touch, and requires that player to jump and land in the playing area to keep the ball from being in touch. Once the ball has crossed the plane of touch, a player who jumps from outside the playing area and lands outside the playing area...

Ball in Hand or on Ground?

Maybe because the tap either on the ground or out of the hand is a kick through the mark, and dropping the ball on your foot really can't be considered a kick.

Ball in Hand or on Ground?

It depends on what the non-offending player wants to do. If he has the ball in his hands, he may choose to tap it out of hand, or put it on the ground and tap it through the mark. If it is on the ground he can tap it through the mark or pick it up and tap it out of hand. The player has a...

    Tackle height stuff

Would it be fair to say that if the tackler is already low, the ball carrier cannot then put his head in the tackler's head space? What happens if the ball carrier has his head in that low space before the tackler? What do we as officials need to see to be able to play on? If they both drop...

SH Tackled After Maul - Eng v Arg

ISTR that clarification was made to deal with that sort of sideways defensive caterpillar ruck thingy the Saracens came up with to counter the box kick from the caterpillar ruck. I don't think I have ever seen it enforced.

HIA and YC on same player

No. He is referring to grass roots rugby with rolling subs. There is no HIA at that level. HIA only exists at the elite adult level with the approval of WR

HIA and YC on same player

There is no HIA in the situation Crossref is describing. It is recognize and remove.

HIA and YC on same player

Is it really that complicated? If the medics treat a player for a head injury that player should be done for the day.

Can a knock on occur from touch / outside the playing area?

If the ball crossed the plane, it is in touch, so play the lineout. If the ball never crossed the plane, it was never in touch, so play the knock on.

    Uruguay try disallowed for obstruction

The referee explained to the Uruguay captain that had 13 run at the defender's inside shoulder he would have been fine. Making contact on the outside shoulder prevented the defender from moving towards the ball carrier.

RFU law variations approved to lower tackle height

Does the trial in Wales require a lower tackle height than in RFU-land?

RFU law variations approved to lower tackle height

Would that be because of the position of the tacker's head?

Has the high number of replacements skewed the game?

As long as the front row is covered, why shouldn't the composition of the replacements' bench be anyone's concern other than the coach. If he wants to risk having to play an 8 at full back why should WR care?
