So after Gilbert got 5 weeks for his dump tackle on Hooper, Pablo Matera while playing for the Crusaders managed to get away with a YC after this lift and throw/dump on Jordan Petaia. If Gilbert gets a straight red and 5 weeks out, how is this, off the ball, deliberate lift and throw not worthy of a RC? No wonder referee inconsistency at the top level is a constant talking point.

Red all day long. Saw this myself and couldn't believe it was yellow.
questionable grip for his right hand too.
Can it be referred?

As clear as day -RED. Lift, rotate, dump, head/shoulders hit the ground first (except he did keep the lightest of grips on the ball carrier). Premeditated? perhaps not; Stupid? definitely.

Ask yourself, if that's not red, what is ???????????

Yep. Cleared by the citing committee as not reaching the threshold of a red card. So much for player wellfare.
