Hi all, just looking to clarify charge downs inside the in goal area. My understanding here is that if a team is pinned on their try line and they pass the ball into the in goal area to allow for a clearance kick and it is charged down it depends on where the charge down occurred that alters the outcome.

Am I correct in saying:

If the kick is charged down inside the in goal and the ball goes dead, it would be a scrum on the 5m to the non kicking team.

If the kick is charged down out of the in goal and then goes out of bounds, it would be a choice of a 5m scrum or goal line drop out to thr kicking team?

It always boils down to 2 questions:
1. Which was the last team to put the ball over the goal-line?
2. Which team then made the ball dead?

Then you have to remember the permutations e.g. for GLDO!

If Defence pass the ball back into In-Goal:
And Attackers charge down inside in-goal, then 5m scrum
And Attackers charge down back in field of play, then 22DO

So is this the full list then?:

Attackers charge down inside in-goal and ball goes dead => 5m scrum to attacking team
Attackers charge down inside in-goal and ball is then made dead by defenders => 5m scrum to attacking team

Attackers charge down in field of play and ball goes dead => 22DO
Attackers charge down in field of play and ball is then made dead by defenders => GLDO

No wonder my brain hurts :(
