Eddie has repeatedly made a remark about a "Captain's Challenge" in the France game.
What incident was he talking about ?

I can only think it was the Ben Earl off-feet PK reversal ( which was correct IMHO ).
And, from what I could here, it was the TMO who called it, not the ref, Mr Brace.
Well played officials there !

EJ was possibly just having a dig after last week's OF incident?

There's been a lot of talk about what the TMO (and Assistants) are allowed to do. and whether a decision should be reversed other than for foul play or foot in touch before a try. I have never had the luxury of either, but it's increasingly clear that World Rugby are trying to get calls as accurate as possible. For example, no one seems to mind if a referee doesn't call a forward pass until advised by the TMO slightly after the event. That is a change of decision, just not as obvious.

Any ref who has mistakenly awarded a try on the 5m line knows that sometimes it is correct to reverse a decision :)
