Maybe this has been tried before.

Pre scrum the ball is placed at the midline on the ground approx 1m from outside of LHP. At contact and center line of front row remains at midline, and then ball is rolled in by S/H presumably down the middle.

Is this fantasy, pipe dream or possibility?, or foolish?

sow hat happens when totally naturally at the SET there's a small wobble and the putting in side ends up conceding 6 inches[1]. Are you now going to

1) ignore it - so the opposition now have the put in 6 inches closer to them across the midline
2) fanny about with te scrum getting players to give a bit one way then the other, in order to maintain the ball on the midline, and in so doing losing some of the body shapes the players need
3) reset and spend time getting it going again.

Nahh.

Just ping a crooked feed. is it that hard?

[1] 6 inches is merely a token amount. How "far" would "too far" be? Maybe 6 inches would be acceptable wobble normally, in order to just get on with the game once the scum has settled etc?
