back in the day Robbie assigned mods in various time zones to address spammy stuff in a timely manner. I've deleted the most recent example

Not on my browser - guess it’s next to the edit option I also don’t seem to have.
That's odd. On mine it will be at the bottom below the words "That's odd" in this post Level with the poster's "level"

MODs will usually delete obvious spam as soon as they see it.
If its reported it just helps highlight it if we've missed it.
If you don't have a report button PM Dave

Why bother?
why not?

its not bringing anything of any use to the party.

Otherwise why not allow all and sundry to post here with recipes, political viewpoints, picture of cats, holiday stories etc ?

Anybody that is au fair with usenet, will know how it has basically become so riddled with spam and other non sensical posting that its unusable now.
Check out google groups and rec.sport.rugby.union for an example of what I mean.

I can't. I know I am a lurker posting long after sign up but I can't see the report button, or the like button for posts.
I also can't update my profile I just get

Your full account details are not currently editable.

Not sure if that is because the site was different when I set up and is now a new format or I'm a newb with a low post count.

Nice one thank you Dave. I can see all the options. How do I prove to you that I am a referee though ;)

Edit: Don't worry I found it, and I can also now edit 😀 Thanks very much

i go from the info on your join form, or whats in the personal details on your profile. I can change to Ref now, I can easily check ( if i needed to ) as have friends in LSRFUR, but in the whole i take peoples word, if its looks like they are not i will remove that privilege. Thankfully i don't have to do that often

Cheers Dave. No worries, I could edit it in my account settings so jumped in there and updated all my details.
Joined so long ago, I think it was just before my referees course and only touching base with LSRFUR to find out what I was letting myself in for. Thankfully I enjoyed it and happily still blowing the whistle.
