First question is always: who put the ball into In-Goal? Second question: how? Third: how was it made dead?

The only thing to add is that in the scenario where a ball is kicked in open play from the field of play through the dead ball line or touch in goal the non-kicking side have the option of a 22 DO or a scrum from where the ball was kicked.

Im really convinced of this having seen toi for a few weeks.

All this means is the attackers can put in a little more than hopeful kick in the knowledge that they'll get the ball back pretty deep in the oppo half for another go. At least with a 22 DO the ball ends up in the receivers own half

But they have to be skillful/lucky enough to put the ball into the In-goal and not over the dead-ball line/TIG; and/or be pressing the defence to commit to making it dead. Otherwise it will be a 22 DO, or defence can run it out.
