Google "South Yorkshire Police Complex" and look at the address.

a quarter mile of road in which the only building is a police station

The Police helicopter is based at the next round-a-bout up, address is actually 999 _ _ _ _ Avenue

Some other contenders in the aptly named road category:
Sluts Hole Lane in Besthorpe, Norfolk, survived a residents' petition for a change last year. Historically unsmutty, it comes from the Dutch word for sluice, used in draining the fens.

•Nuding Close in Wanstead, east London, has long lost its signs. Souvenir hunters couldn't resist them and local residents, tired of endless quips, don't want them back.

•Grape Lane in York was renamed by staid Victorians who found the original Grope - historically related to local prostitution - too blatant.

•Nice View in Leeds, named after the French resort, looks out on a red brick wall and the back of a shop. Perfect View in Bath has just that.

There was a Butthole Road in Conisborough near Doncaster however locals got it changed as they got sick of folk with phones stopping to photograph it etc.

Pity. It always made me laugh as I drove towards Rotherham/Wath.

It's called Archer's Way or something equally bland now - it does command a good view of the Castle so is appropriate.

A bit like Canal View near us where the "C" keeps mysteriously being painted out in white paint! :)

Grape Lane in York's former name is a bit worse than just Grope Lane!

I'll say no more

Lots of mediaeval towns and cities had one.
