Reds play Blues. Reds kick off. Balls goes 10M but while still in flight,
Blue second row catches the ball from kick off but has one foot in touch.

I presume it is therefore a Red ball. Since blue had one foot in touch and one foot in play.

And if I am right, same question for when the ball doesn't go 10M?

In the new laws it depends on whether the ball had passed the plane of touch when blue caught it.

If it had not, then red line out

If it had then in the first instance blue line out, in the second blue option

I'm sorry but what ref can there and determine whether it has crossed the plane of touch or not. This is impossible to do accurately without a TJ.

Yep, that is exactly why it used to be judged by the feet, which are much easier to see


but the current Law says it's all about the ball.
