Do we have any solicitors / Barristers on this site who would mind me picking their brains quickly?

I think you'll need to be more specific - which field of law?

All lawyers would mind anyone picking their brains quickly - they much prefer a lengthy process designed to optimise the fee revenue. Surely you mean wouldn't mind ?

And ensure any discussions are agreed as pro bono to avoid those fees.

As others have said there are many legal specialisms across family - conveyance, wills, trust funds, etc), corporate (employment, tax, m&a, etc) and the full range of criminal law, plus lots more too.

I am not a lawyer, but in my job have had to get a decent grasp of contract law, m&a, and employment law.

OK the pedantry tells me that you're all lawyers ;). Specifically Criminal Law to do with listing a court case at a crown court.

Hope this helps (you earn your fee)

We may not have any criminal lawyers but we do have some people with shady pasts. I'd suggest buying your way out of the situation. It works here and our legal system is based on yours.

Your legal system rivals that of third-world countries.

Somebody is possibly committing a crime when listing a case? Or do you mean doing something wrongful when listing a criminal case? Perhaps the answer is in Archbold

Send me a PM with some details of the question and I'll see what I can do; I'm not a criminal lawyer but I am a solicitor who's run a prosecutions team.

Note though that I won't be formally your solicitor; so (i) I won't charge you, (ii) you'll have to treat the advice as worth what you pay for it and (iii) anything said to me in confidence is not protected by solicitor/client privilege against disclosure in subsequent court proceedings.

I thought you were an orthopod? Don't pretend to have a stethoscope or know how to use it!
