I'm in my 1st season as a full time ref, having retired from playing last year.

I have just been thinking about my game on Saturday.
There were quite a few mauls especially from the lineout. Can you help me with the following?

. maul formed from lineout.
. maul drives forward.
. mechanics of the maul mean it starts to wheel left.
. 3 players (gold) continue to drive straight and therefore split off from maul.
. maul at no point stopped.

The three players that 'broke' away from maul could have been deemed as Truck and Trailer as there was a none ball carrier infront of the ball carrier.

However I deemed it not to be obstruction because
.the three players continued to drive straight (did not change lanes).
.The maul did not stop.

Is my interpretation correct?

Thanks.

Sounds a good call to me, I would have said, same maul play on so everyone was aware.
Look at the knock a ball back into play clip, there are a couple of examples there.
