Please find a guidance note from Richard Whittam KC, Head of RFU Judiciary.

https://www.englandrugby.com/dxdam/...udiciary Guidance Note on sanctions (MOA).pdf

The guidance note sets out the approach to be taken by disciplinary panels at all levels of the game from January 1st 2024, in respect of aggravation of sanction.

Please note that this only applies for Match Official Abuse cases and replaces any existing memoranda in force.

The RFU Discipline team will be coordinating communications to go to the wider game. We are sending this for your information to ensure the fullest circulation with our match official colleagues.

Let's hope these escalation sanctions are applied by the various disciplinary committees!

We (Durham) were already doing this, although thankfully I think that was a threat that we didn’t need to apply - not sure whether we jumped the gun or are trend setters!
