Not me. The closest I've got to involvement with the Olympic Torch is that I'm mates with at least 2 of the Police outriders escorting it around Wales, and I don't think that counts.

Torch bearers are a mix of public nomination and sponser's choice. The 2 you selected are sponsor's choice.

My company is a large Olympic sponsor, and we all got a chance to nominate potential torch-bearers. It never occurred to me to nominate a non-Brit, but then it never occurred to me to nominate anyone, as in my world the Olympics start with the opening ceremony - which is to be ignored entirely by all right-thinking people.

I am certainly not, as some of our fees for managing Visa and Lloyds Bank sponsorship kicked in 1st May

Also great to see the Beach Volleyball girls out causing traffic chaos yesterday near Westminster Square.

No

Correction. It's always great to see Beach Volleyball girls. Strangely, I think demand for Beach Volleyball tickets was very high.

My wife was a torch bearer for the Olympics in Vancouver in 2010. An outstanding experience!

The whole Olympics were awesome, too - not boring in the least! There were nay-sayers before they started but as soon as the flame was lit, the city was one big party.

Enjoy it in London - it's like nothing else!

LLP - the kit regualtions have been widened to allow long shorts and sleeved tops etc "to reflect cultural requirements". It is not mandatory.

The GB girls have all said they will wear bikinis still, and believe most of the others will too.

Are they allowed to wear leggings?

I am too.

The Olympic torch "tradition" was started in 1936 by Nazi Germany! A reason not to bother with it.
As Michael Caine would have said, "Not a lot of people know that." It has no Nazi overtones, so why worry? I didn't bother to go and watch, but from the size of the crowds it seems to generate a lot of enthusiasm.
