Decent session today:

10 minutes EMOM - 60kg squat cleans x 3 reps
5 x 500m rowing intervals, 1 minute rest
Drag a prowler/40kg sled 1000m without stopping. I walked this to make sure I didn't stop and I managed to do it unbroken. Took 11 minutes.

Late to the party, but I'm doing everything late this year, major surgery at the beginning of December so I have done nothing for six weeks.

Start weight: 57kg (BMI 18.7. I need to eat more pies.)

How fit do I feel: Not. Not at all.
Training this week:
Mon (today): Zip, have migraine
Tue: Half hour PT session
Wed:Start couch to 5 km running programme.
Thur: Half hour PT session
Fri: C25k run
Sat: C25k run
Sun: nice walk

Diet: Stop forgetting to eat and add protein shakes.

Goal: AR fit by mid Feb. Match fit by mid March. Gain 5kg of muscle by march.

Don't worry about BMI, it's a useless statistic. Concentrate more on body fat %.

+1 for this. I'm classed as overweight, and have been since college, when I was pretty slender (for me) but have thick and solid (think front rower) legs on a loose forwards torso. My doctor (an ex-state loose forward) ignores the BMI that his computer spits out.

On training, tonight was fark. Last training before the team starts proper pre-season and our trainer whipped us a bit. Grasshoppers with decreasing length of run (50/500m), then ladders of pushup/burpees then 10x100m sprints with a partner and a nice couple of laps to finish. I normally feel pretty good an hour after training (once I've recovered and got some food in), but tonight I'm sore and buggered.

Getting a little jaded with training, any tips to push through?

LOL. It's still January !!!

I have been going since October! I didn't get through all of the sets last night, but got through more than a couple of the forwards who turned up, so thats a win. Some of the backs are scary machines when they work out and I just ignore them!

I usually write down my yearly goals and then split them across the months. Make them S.M.A.R.T goals and then just tick them off as you meet them, usually helps me with my training.

10 minutes EMOM front squats @ 75kg
3 x 8 ab roll outs, these are harder than I thought.
5 x 500m rowing intervals, 1 minute rest
Sled pushes - 60kg on the sled, push for 2 minutes continuously and then rest for 4 minutes.

Got all weighed and measured this morning, I've dropped to 56 kgs (BMI 18.3, woo I'm underwight!) Body fat of 13% could be better but right now all my clothes are falling off so I don't care what I gain, I need to get some weight on.

Then first exercise in 6 weeks... I'm so unfit :(

EDIT: Ta Robert, I may stick about, hopefully, but I am easily distracted

Got weighed this morning as part of the Healthy Business initiative they run, down from 86.9 to 85.5kg since Fat-mas. Total Cholesterol 3.9 - said it was the lowest she has seen of anyone at the business (>500 staff). Off to the doc for a proper set of bloods to make sure its the LDL that is low, not the HDL!

The plan that was....that wasn't to be
This week:
Start weight: 75kg
Feeling great. 6-pack developing but still hidden by jelly belly (Damn it).
Monday - 7km on elliptical and core work (morning), weights (afternoon) - tick
Tuesday - Weights - tick
Wednesday - cardio (6km run) + core, and 18-holes of golf! - just 18-holes of golf
Thursday - cardio (6 km road run) and weights - 7 hours of gardening and spreading mulch
Friday - cardio (90min mountain bike ride) - 4 hours of gardening and spreading mulch + weights in arvo
Saturday - cardio (probably beep test or 50-100m sprints of some sort) and weights (and 18 holes!) - 18-holes (in 34 degrees!) + weights in the arvo
Sunday - rest - 50m sprints on 30 sec x 8 immediately into 50m on 20 sec x 4. 22m shuttles in 30 sec followed 30 sec rest x 10. 400m laps x 5 with core between each lap.

End weight....73kg!

This week:
Monday: weights (morning) + 30min Grit class followed by 60min boxercise (arvo)
Tuesday: weights (packing gear for 10 day coastal camping/boating/fishing holiday. Packing in 35 degrees...so will sweat!)
Wednesday: travel day and setup camp
Thurs - Sun: whatever run/jogs I can muster!

Yes, I need to get my bloods checked too. Cholesterol always higher in off season.

Took yesterday off, and I need to take tonight off as well. Feeling quite good, starting to notice I am getting leaner which is always good. My wife said she can see the change already which is good.

Did you spew? If not you did better than I did, although it was 40+ degrees when I was sprinting.
