If a player makes a kick that would result in their team being awarded the throw, say from a penalty or 50-22, and they are the first player to the ball when it goes into touch. If they passed it to another player who is off the pitch, for example their hooker, would it be possible for them to take a quick throw still?

The reason I ask is that the law says that a quick throw can be taken as long as no one other than the player who puts it into touch (the kick and chaser) and the player throwing it (the hooker).

No. The law is written to include the player carrying the ball off the pitch (as in tackled and forced off the pitch) and the opponent who now wishes to take a quick throw in.

If it touched by any other person the quick throw in is not allowed.

The devil is in the detail here. 18.5b says the quick throw is disallowed if the ball has been touched after it went into touch by anyone other than the player throwing in or the player who carried the ball into touch not the player who put it in touch so kicking a 50:22 or penalty doesnt mean you can throw it to another player and the quick throw would still be on.
