Discussion started in newsletter regarding summer fitness.

Last two seasons I have gone to an organised circuit traing session twice a week. This gives an overall fitness workout, and I don't have to think too hard about what I'm doing-just listen and react. We finish with a timed run along half the pitch and up/round/down the grandstand, getting six laps in just over 5 minutes.

Phase two of the Fitness Masterplan involves the use of a skipping rope. I have used them over the season as a break in between set exercises and it keeps the heart/lungs going to extend a gym session into a stamina one.

What do you do?

Referee Touch Rugby, 2 games on a Wed evening, games are 40 mins long (20 mins a half) so just like doing a game every week still but it's faster and less stop start.

See if ones in your area. www.touchrugby.com or www.in2touch.com

I go sailing around the Solent about once per week. Anchor for a swim, glass of wine, lunch and then a leisurely sail back.;)
