Just thought I'd share this if anyone is interested.
Don't think my club will invest £200 on the off chance they'll get their money back by guys turning up to watch the games and buying a few beers.
Not sure many others will either.
Any thoughts? Clubs are struggling as it is and don't know whether to gamble on Sky or TNT for the season never mind amazon prime!

I have received this information yesterday and just circulating after a few queries have come in over the last day or so, around the Summer Series – RWC Warm Up Games on Amazon.
“The Summer Nations Series kicks off on Saturday 29 July and runs through to Sunday27 August, featuring some of the final international rugby fixtures ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2023.
Rugby clubs are in for a blockbuster summer with all 15 fixtures being broadcast exclusively live – with England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland all in action along with Southern Hemisphere powerhouses Australia, and current Rugby World Cup Champions South Africa, alongside Japan, Fiji, Samoa, Romania, and Georgia.
Help keep members in for longer with back-to-back games, including Saturday afternoon triple-headers – perfect to show alongside Sky’s club-packing favourites, including the Premier League which begins again on Friday 11 August.

  • Prime Video has partnered with Sky Business to bring rugby clubs 15 exclusive live games from the Summer Nations Series
  • Affiliated RFU clubs save £150 on the Summer Nations Series. Clubs can take the Summer Nations Series on its own or alongside a Sky Business Subscription.
  • To order clubs should call 03330 609 578 (£199 price point for the Summer Nations Series).
Existing customers
  • Once they have ordered the entire series, Sky customers with a HD-capable box won’t need to do a thing as we will automatically add the Prime Video HD channels to their line-up.
Non-Sky customers

Can order the channel as a standalone agreement from us or join Sky via a 12-month or PAYG package.
They need a Sky HD-capable set top box and active Sky viewing card to show these matches.
If they don’t have an active Sky Viewing Card they can order one free of charge which will be sent out via first class.

  • If they don’t have a Sky HD-capable set top box, then they need to order one through us and our customer service team will be able to advise on the cost.
Terms and Conditions:
  • The entire Summer Nations Series must be purchased via Sky Business.
  • A Minimum Term applies and runs from date of sign up until the earlier of the end of the Summer Nations Series 2023 or until Sky ceases to make the channel(s) available. Standard Sky Business Subscription prices apply thereafter or if purchased as a Standalone Agreement no further subscription prices applicable afterwards.
  • Sky HD-capable set top box and Sky viewing card required for viewing. Additional installation requirements will be chargeable. Full terms and conditions apply.”

Perhaps the framing of world cup warm up games as a "SUMMER NATIONS SERIES" is an indication of how the marketing has overtaken the sport.

Personally we dumped Sky quite a long time ago as not providing VfM. We have a firestick and we pay prime for other reasons, I am not sure I would subscribe otherwise, for a club I suppose it depends on the break even point, £50 per week for 4 weeks, how much extra beer is that? Food on offer with better markup, I don't know the cost or profit margins so cannot really comment.

PS. I would have added flashing lights and crawling ants to further emphasise what a wonderful spectacle it will be but the limitations of the site do not enable that.
