Team Tours Direct run some of the leading mini and junior rugby festivals in the UK and are currently seeking referees to cover two up coming events.

The South Coast Festival 14/15th April in Torquay

and

The West Coast Festival 5/6th May in Ilfracoombe.

All expenses will be covered by the company.
If you are interested in refereeing in either of the festivals please email:
R.Price@TeamToursDirect.Com
Furthermore, if you are unavailable for the above festivals but interested in being added to our referee database to be contacted in the future please supply your contact details to the email above. We run festivals throughout the year, throughout the UK and are always seeking additional referees for our events.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Are these endorsed by the RFU Refs Dept and the County Society ? Is RFU insurance cover in place through the Refs Dept or the hosting Club ?

As the second date is outside the official Mini/Midi & Youth season window of 01September to 30th April, what is the match official insurance cover position ?

What referee grade levels are you looking for, who is making the appointment decisions as to which referees are competent at the match level and so fulfilling the RFU Duty of Care ?

And would the expenses cover more than a 10 mile journey and/or a shared bunk in a borrowed cowshed? For example, a ref from Yorkshire might appreciate a stay with the wife and kids in Torquay (it could happen!); while no-one would expect Team Tours Direct to pay for the wife and kids' hotel expenses, would the expenses allocation make a contribution to the cost of the family holiday, or would the ref be expected to leave the family at home in order to make the trip?

I believe that Team Tours Direct have offered a free six-berth chalet to any refs covering both days of their upcoming Poole tournament, with families invited at no cost.

I would hope that the £50 for this Poole tourney is pay for their time and that all travel expenses (train / taxi or petrol @ RFU 40p per mile) are claimable on top too, as per normal Society appointments.

snap... who has given these emails to them? Or have they been lucky in finding them?

Also

Simon the season this year is to the the May Bank Holiday so 5/6 May is allowed hence why the Alton 7's are also on that date.

11.3 Subject to RFU Regulation 15.1.4.4 players in the Under 13 – U18 Age Grades
may only play in contact matches from Saturday 27 August 2011 until Monday 7
May 2012 inclusive unless otherwise authorised by the RFU Board of Directors
or persons to whom the Board of Directors delegates that authority. Overseas
Tours and Trials are exempt from this regulation.

thanks Jenks - all those appts are on the agenda for Society Committee this evening, so I would have found out then. Alton 7s will of course have priority - has a formal request for refs been made to Society ?

Robbie - no leak. As is the case with other English Societies, referee tel #s and email addys are on our website in a publically available area.

Currently we operate opt-out to have the email removed, but we will discuss again a switch to opt-in.
