Not the greatest angle but 2nd one was apparently a head clash

Does anyone know if the referee gave the RC without seeing a replay? For the first one in particular I'm not sure I would have given it an RC on first viewing. It's only after seeing it again, different angle, slow mo etc I'd be heading for red. We obviously don't get such luxuries on a wet Saturday in the lower leagues!

Well according to the guidelines we've been given, they should both have been red, but to me, that suggests the guidelines are wrong.

First one no brainer.

TBH I couldn't really see what happened in the second one, but of it was a clash of heads when the HQ was lowering to tackle that incredibly harsh. maybe the oppo shouldn't have dropped to withstand the imminent impact? ( tongue in cheek comment lest anyonw think I'm being serious).

Indeed. Similar to Hartley. Reckless play. Expect a longer ban than DH got.

The attacker stepped back into him, was being tackled so at a low height, tackler was bent over, and they banged heads. A world away from the first RC. Expect it to be 1 week or SOS

First one I have no issue with the RC.

The second, I'm not so sure. Even having looked at the clips over half-a-dozen times I think that the attempted tackle was unfortunate in that the ball carrier was in the process of heading toward the deck as a result of the previous attempted tackle. An unfortunate set of circumstances that, at worst, should be a YC only.

I think that with the new WR directive coning in to force at the start of January we will see more of this. For the good of the game? Jury is out, IMHO.

Why would you expect a longer ban for this? They're a world apart. Unless you're just being cynical, in which case you're probably right!
