I had an unusual incident in my Merit League game at the weekend.

Blue LHP drives into Red defenders. He continues his drive as one of the Reds pulls at his shirt and it comes off over his head and remains dangling by ball carrying sleeve. Semi clothed he continues making quite a gain in territory.

Evenually he goes to ground and ruck forms over him. Tacklers release but I can't quite see the ball. I go in to spot the ball and after a slight delay out it pops at the back inside the shirt.

Peep! Unplayable! Scrum. Blue going forward. Blue ball.

It made us laugh anyway!

had a similar one a few weeks back, defender makes an engulfing tackle players go to ground, it's close to the 5m line so loads of other players involved too. Ball is not to be seen and so as to stop players getting overly involved in what was obviously a mass pile up, I give a quick blow, attacking scrum, still no ball :chin: at which point the defender and original ball carrier appear from the bottom of the pile both laughing. The tackler actually pulled the ball carriers shirt up over the ball so it couldn't come out!
