Re: Weight Loss Championship

I've decided to join as well. 28th April 2011

Currently 14st 5lb = 92kg ish

I will try to get to 13st 7lb = 86kg Ready for my YRS fitness test in the summer- August ish.

I haven't been 13st 7lb since I packed in playing in 1998.

My missus has lost 10kg since last October so I'm feeling a bit of a fat get - although looking at some of you chubbers I feel better!

Wish me luck.

Re: Weight Loss Championship

I hate weights, bore me to tears.

Will see if I can get a little bit in.

Anyway, good news everybody!

Starting weight: 102.3kg

Week 1: 100.1Kg
Week 2: 102.5Kg

Very happy with that, and I bought a new Canterbury top today, and the Large fitted me, not worn a large for years!

Re: Weight Loss Championship

Very late to the party but I'd like to join. I'm a little heavy, but its more important for me to drop my bodyfat and put some muscle on my useless, vestigial little arms.

So, yeah. Start weight - 63kgs, Goal weight 58kgs. Body fat percentage will be calculated in a couple of days by the good folks at the referees academy.

Re: Weight Loss Championship

I hate weights, bore me to tears.

Same for me usually. So I decided to start a program with more of a cross-training feel (4 days per week), and it's really easy to manage at home (bit tight on the budget and can't afford gym fees at the moment:( ). It's been working really well for me and I have only been going through each station twice up till now (instead of 4 times), going to bump it to 3 next week though.

Have a look here:

http://my.menshealth.com/workout/The-Spartacus-Workout-2.0/workout-a

Doesn't look much, but if you push yourself it works you pretty hard. I just do warm-up cycle for 10mins. Resistence level set just where you feel pressure. Intensity level where you would struggle to maintain conversation from 2mins onwards.

Then do circuit above (using 8kg dumbells for me). Then cool down cycle for 5-10mins.

So I do this 4 days a week. Referee Friday nights and Saturday. Rest Sunday.

What is everyone else trying?

Re: Weight Loss Championship

That looks quite good.

I'll have a go let you know how it goes.

I have to admit my upper body strength is rubbish compared to my lower which I believe is very good. (I can leg press the entire weight stack in reps of 12).

No loss last week - hmmm. Perhaps the beer and BBQ weren't such a good idea. At least not a gain.
