I expect there are lots of things happening under the bonnet (hood) that we can't see.

this forum only lets you post once every 30 hours :hap:

Can we get rid of that for "accepted" users - say after 50 posts or so? I understand the need to stop spam etc, but when flipping through the forums in the morning, and it has stopped me posting 3 times, and I have to stop, count down the 30 seconds, re-post, miss the timing, repost. Means it takes way too long to read and reply etc.

Lol, yes, I'll lower it.

Indeed, some of which I am still getting used to too. ;)

Will take a bit of getting used to! Change is never easy!!:wait:

Agreed.

There is no "time since last log in" anywhere that I can find. This makes it impossible to know how far you need to look back when something logs me back in while I'm reading a post. With the old forum I knew to locate this number when logging in so I could find my "bookmark" in threads.

This is around somewhere, I'll locate it and tell you.

The icons beside posts to show what is new or not is so pale that it's difficult for me to tell which is which.

That'll change once I can get the new style up!

From the "New Posts" page the link just opens the top of the thread. Shouldn't that send me to the "first unread"?

I agree it should, I'll see if there is a secret button I haven't enabled. :)

I don't think the search facility is as good as the old site.

Believe it or not I can't find the infamous leggings thread by putting leggings in the quick search or by using the advanced either. Perhaps it's just me.

By the way I asked a lad to remove his leggings at a 7s tournament yesterday - he did.

There is a little blue button that takes you to the first new post.

No national flags either.

Will England referees be ditching the Cross of St George in favour of a plain black flag!!

That'll be added again soon.

I have rebuilt the search function, should be better now.

Flags are there (well I can see them).

Stuff I like:

Multiquote option while still not having to "go advanced"
Being able to drag the text-box down to see more of what you've written.
Like/Dislike options.

I'm finding the "Go to first unread post" blue button thingy on the threads, doesn't actually take me to the first unread post.

Used to work on the old forum (almost) perfectly. Is always off by several posts here.

The Colour schemes need a lot of work (IMHO) (On firefox)

The vb standard one - there is so much white, it makes my eyes hurt. The RR.com white one, reading any text is hard. The RR.com colour one is okay, but the header etc is unreadable.

Please - I need a non-white version, that is legible.....

Works ok for me, the little blue button left of the title yes?

Designs are being worked on, what you are looking at is just temporary.

Yes - often miss several hours of unread threads - above where it takes me. Never had the problem with the old one.

and thanks for the design work - looking forward to the finished ones!

I like it so far and it will only get better. I did lose Chooper on my Buddy list. I will have to fix that ASAP. I really like the AotoSave for replies. I forgot to post a reply and went back later and it was saved for me. Awesome.

the "new posts" is a bit annoying. even though I don't read the posts but click on the option again - it will remove all the previous listed threads and then I have to go back and look through the entire site for new posts or just say forget it...which I have been doing. not too good for business.

Yeah, we are looking into the new posts. Seeing if VB can restore the old functionality in the next patch.

Robert

You should have a look at the way they have it set up on The Rugby Forum

http://www.therugbyforum.com/forum/

They have the same "Latest Posts" panel that you have on the home page, displayed on the Forums page, and you can tuck it away or bring it into view by toggling the little chevron thingy on the RHS
