Be interested to know what the Sale captain was saying to Tempo as he gave manu the Red. Looks like he was trying to talk him out of it, but what possible defence could you have for that arm to the head?

He was being tackled so wasn't in control ?
(I am not saying it wasn't a RC, I think it was)

A lot of players seem to be under the misapprehension that only the tackler can do anything illegal in a tackle and the ball carrier is always the victim. Clearly this is not the case. Another urban myth?

I’ve penalised ball carriers many times over the years particularly for what they claim is a hand off and I say is a hit to the face. If it looks wrong, it probably is.

the laws are different though
- tacklers are not allowed to target the ball carriers head
- but ball carriers are allowed target the tacklers head (as long as not with excessive force)
