Fine thanks. Bit stiff but that was predicted - not least by me. Didn't die but it was not nice. Drank loads and "warmed up" by running up and down the corridor in the changing rooms. Took water breaks in the shade of the "stand" - see Youtube video 101 uses for hand painted corrugated iron sheets.

I wore my pimply Asics hockey shoes which were fine for my feet - one dickhead wore brand new screw in studded boots, I suspect he will go through a box of Compeeds this week.

Called time with 10 minutes left as people were wilting and there'd been a few soft tissue injuries - nothing drastic!

Speaking of weather I refereed Sefton v Tyldesley during Storm David in Jan 2018 as it crashed into the West Coast of Britain. Absolutely piss wet through and freezing cold. It's the only time I've gone off at HT and changed my shirt. There's a lovely open fire at Sefton and needless to say my MO's debrief was carried out in front of it, whilst I warmed the hole of my body.

I remember Tyldesley got all agitated by me pronouncing the name of their "town" incorrectly.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Tyldesley being agitated does not surprise me hahahaha. Equally does not sound like my kind of game in the cold and wet... I'm a fair weather prop me!

For now

D3 Men - Lake County @ Peoria. Visitors are 2-3, and coming off a 48-0 loss at home, home side coming off a bye.

Scratched, Lake County cried off.

Helping out down south, SLU @ Principia (college men's D2).

This weekend I am in the land of the Madrefs.

L6 - Regional 2 NW

Rochdale v Winnington Park (Cheshire)

Rochdale about 5th, WP near bottom. Hopefully a good report will see me at L6 for real.

As mentioned before this is predominantly to broaden options as an AR in NL-MOT.

Caveat that this could change, due to the need to prioritize games that impact qualification/seeding for the playoffs that start next weekend

Currently doing a double - AR1 for Cleveland Crusaders @ Chicago Lions (Midwest Prem), then refereeing Wisconsin @ Lions Women (Midwest D1.

Gonna be a ~12 hour day, but should be a lot of good rugby, weather permitting

Hopefully first match of the season after 6 month long injury rehab, still no confirmation Egremont 2 v Aspatria 2. Not many teams up here managing to put out second teams even some at L6!

the circled building is our local rugby club

The Melbourne CBD is in the background.

There's been some controversy because Flemington race course (white building top left and home of the Melbourne Cup) built a flood prevention wall around itself some years ago and it's claimed this has exacerbated overall local flooding

Taking the next two Saturdays off due to Halloween-related activities and an obsession with Ariel (complete with red wig). A Sunday assignment is possible, but I would be shocked if I got one.

After two weeks off, AR2 for a Men's Div 2 semifinal - Indianapolis Impalas @ Chicago Blaze. Both teams undefeated, putting up 50+ ppg. Should be an exciting one.

Well, our season starts on Saturday.

First match, 1800 kick off at the Anzac Oval, Warriors vs Eagles, referee - me.

One of these teams is the team of the guy who king hit me in March. I asked for them straight out the gates.

After a couple of weeks off due to being on the piss and the RLWC I am back on duty.
This weekend:-
AR2 in Nat 2 North
Huddersfield v Wharfedale
Huddersfield next to bottom, Wharfedale in the middle.
Still getting used to it but the To3 aspect appeals.
