We have a set of AxiWi comms in the society which on the whole are great.
There is, however, one problem.
One of our clubs is situated next to a phone mast. At this ground the range is terrible and there is a constant dropping in and out, so communication is very tricky unless you are very close. No such issue at any of our other grounds.
My hunch (but not an expert) is that the phone mast is the reason. I just took a look and the radios run at a frequency around 2.4 GHz. UK phone masts have bands at 2.1 GHz, 2.3 GHz and 2.6 GHz.
So.
Does this sound like the reason the radios don't work as well? (i.e. any physics or telecomms people lurking on here to tell me if I'm being an idiot)
Any suggestions on a workaround? (We've tried the different channels, which are sadly all in quite a narrow frequency range for this comms set)
Any recommendations on other comms systems we could suggest to out society?
