Tomorrow I attend the JoJo Moore Tournament in NY State.
For those of you (most of you) that don't know about Mr Moore, he was paralyzed in the early 90's from a collapsed scrum. He's still going, but the US insurance industry, being the evil scum suckers that they are, are limiting his benefits. So this tournament adds funds to his family savings accounts, typically something in the region of 30K from what I have heard.
So, it is a fun event, lots of teams playing in good spirits. I get to work with a lot of newer refs, and talk with some of the NY area evaluators who will be attending. I'm also bringing along my protege, who has done an excellent job this spring, so I am asking the NY observers to take a peek at him.
After the spring of flying, it will be nice to drive to a fun event, and aim to let the players have fun in an environment that is competitive, but good spirited.
I also aspire to refereeing one of the over 45's matches, and running the old *******s off their feet!
