Refereed an enjoyable fixture yesterday. At one stage a ball was kicked and player dived on it. His whole team shouted "HE HAS TO LET HIM UP" - no opposition player was nearby so he got to his feet and kicked away possession.

After game at the bar:
Captain: He does have to let him up doesn't he?
Me: No, he can't dive on him but he doesn't have to let him get to feet
Captain: Ah ok, so its only when its in the 22 so is it?
Me: No, if a guy dives on the ball he doesn't have to be allowed get to his feet
Captain: No bother ref, thanks for that. *Turns to his Team Mates* Ref says that they've changed the law

Current Referee grade:
Level 15 - 11
i can live with that, if it means that they now understand the law. trouble is, i'm not sure if they do. more likely is that they'll decide that this week's ref is an idiot, and the next one will know better.
