Was at twickers today for the double header.
Watched Saracens vs London Irish, then Wasps vs. Harlebloodcapsules.
As ever, offside at the breakdown was largely ignored for most of the match (sentinals) and felt that both refs initially struggled with the new tackle law, often pinging the tackled player for holding on, when it appeared to us in the stands that oppo were diving over the top and preventing the ball being played and that this was a more heinous(sp?) crime.
Interesting, towards the end of the second halves, both refs started to ping for going over much more and general comments was that this seemed to open up the game more, and speed up the ball coming back.
Rugby in first game was atrocious. LI tried to play, South Africa just set out to kill the ball. That said, LI appeared determined not to win given their dreadful goal-kicking.
Second game, the sending off after 46s meant the final result was pretty much always guaranteed, although Harlerupturedveins did play very well in the first half and nearly managed to get LW to implode. Thought ref and ARs handled the headbutt incident very well.
