Answer D is correct. Since this is from a kick off the exception for catching the ball and a maul forming straight away does not apply.

Blue in possession when the maul was formed so they took it in, normal maul turnover ball, scrum to gold. (use it or lose it).


Had blue caught from a kick, that was not a kick off, then it would have been a scrum to blue.
