Consequences and outcomes.
Whilst a life ban may be a little excessive, after all look at the good rugby does getting back on the straight and narrow, a ban does need to ensue for all parties involved.
Kids need to learn that for every action there is a consequence from which they need to learn. Actually I can think of quite a few adults to whom this should apply as well.
