Final minute of the game and yellow score their 10th try with conversion. We do have time for the restart kick but the next dead ball moment will be game over.
Blue flyhalf asks "how long left sir" to which I reply "final play". The then asks "can I kick it straight into touch?" to which I reply "sure".
Mistake.
He attempted the kick, it went just over the 10m and about 2m short of the touchline. A yellow opponent caught the ball and was tackled into touch by blue.
Saved me some embarrassment there I reckon!
