NZ score try, Lam places ball at the furthest distance from posts. Ie the edge of the playing area.
The drop kicker starts from the touchline, but nicks a few Meters during his approach to kick before striking the ball. If it was a kick from the tee then the referee would likely insist on correct placement
Its not something to get too bent out of shape over, granted, but how much ' distance theft' pre-strike would you permit before disallowing it ?
