Player binned who is subsequently spotted, on the field of play, wearing a different numbered jersey.

How would you deal with this, and would your approach be different if a junior game?

Is it that he/she has come back on after the 10 mins Sin Bin is up, wearing a different jersey?

1. If declared on Team Sheet, why can he not put the original one back on? Torn, wet, bloodied? Then make your decision. Probably some Regulation that states coaches have to inform the ref of any such radical jersey changes.

2. If not declared on Team Sheet (lower level leagues), warn him that you have identified that he has changed jerseys, so 2nd YC will be a RC.

3. If during the 10 mins Sin Bin, then what all the others have said: :norc:

Leniency depends on level of game, not just whether senior or junior.

It sounds like it was within time in the bin so would definitely be a RC.
What age was the team?
Sounds to me like the coach needs to be hauled before the committee as well.

The Law:
14.1 PLAYERS ON THE GROUND
(a) A player with the ball must immediately do one of three things:
• Get up with the ball
• Pass the ball
• Release the ball.
Sanction: Penalty kick
(b) A player who passes or releases the ball must also get up or move away from it at once.
Sanction: Penalty kick
(c) A player without the ball must not lie on, over, or near the ball to prevent opponents getting possession of it.
Sanction: Penalty kick
(d) A player on the ground must not tackle or attempt to tackle an opponent.
Sanction: Penalty kick
14.2 PLAYERS ON THEIR FEET
(a) Falling over the player on the ground with the ball. A player must not intentionally fall on or over a player with the ball who is lying on the ground.
Sanction: Penalty kick
(b) Falling over players lying on the ground near the ball. A player must not intentionally fall on or over players lying on the ground with the ball between them or near them.
Sanction: Penalty kick

Nowhere does it say that the player on his feet MUST let the player get up as his first action. It is an option, not a right.

I assume the player has returned early and is attempting to fool the ref.

red card.

Why would it be different in an U19 game?
