This past Saturday, I was assigned as a #4 for a high-level knockout game (Life @ Lindenwood). Scheduled for a 7pm KO, but due to incoming weather was moved up to 5:45pm.

Five minutes in, game stopped due to lightning. Over the next 2+ hours, discussions are had between TPTB. Once talk moved to a replay the next day, I told the local assigner that I was driving home that night regardless of the decision.

Ultimately at 8:35 game is abandoned, replay scheduled for Sunday noon. Once the rain eased, I grabbed my stuff and made the 2hr drive home.

Saturday was my first and second times encountering weather delays having national championship-level impacts, which was...enlightening.

I doubt that would happen in the UK.
Both players and officials might not be available of prepared to do it all again Sunday.
I gave up Sundays many years ago so so unlikely that I would do it.
