Red v Blue
red are winning and time has expired
the ball is at the back of a red ruck, and the referee calls 'use it'
they don't use it .. they just wait 5 seconds.

scrum blue ..... and, hence, full time?

Possible PK under either 10.2(a) or 10.2(b)? In which case time does not expire.

ah.

the solution I like best from 2012 is (drumroll) mine! :)

so don't call use it ... just wait.

Cept we are required by law to cal "use it", W/o looking it up, i think it is something like, the referee will call "use it"

We're also required to ping players for being offside

In this case, I think you could argue your choices?

[LAWS]16.7 (c) When the ball has been clearly won by a team at a ruck and the ball is available to be played the referee will call "Use it!" after which the ball must be played within five seconds. If the ball is not played within five seconds the referee will award a scrum and the team not in possession of the ball at the ruck is awarded the throw-in.[/LAWS]If time expires before the 5 seconds elapses (if there is an official stadium clock), then you can do nothing.

If there are still a few seconds to go, you can award a scrum, which will be played - Law 5.7 (e).

In the sticks, you will be the sole time-keeper.

For offside etc, you can play advantage. Not practical here.
