Last league match of the season! 85 past players tuning up for a pre-game lunch and internationals on., Should be a great day.
I don't think I'll be awake for the England game!
I hope the club has ordered extar Guinness!

NOWIRUL Div 3 West at Oldershaw this Saturday. It will be my first senior men's game in 11 months after tearing my knee cartilage... only my 4th senior men's game and also my first level 10 game... really looking forward to it, though a little apprehensive about being rusty, is knee strong enough, am I fit enough. 🤞

After last weekends;

Hartlepool Rovers vs Acklam
Hartlepool Colts vs Bishop
Hartlepool Ladies vs Northallerton

I am off to ….. Hartlepool vs Bishop L7 / DN1 - mid table and nothing in it, although the home touchline has a reputation for being ‘vocal’

Having been there before...

Your knee is fine. It's your mind. Do your warm up (if you do that kind of things) and try a couple of side steps. Once your head knows the knee is fine, it's smooth sailing. I took a hard fall in my first game back and it was the best thing to happen.

First runout since trashing my ankle last summer so feeling nervous and very, very rusty.

Local U19 tournament, and the weather looks … challenging? Inch plus of rain over the day, air temps a few degrees above freezing, a steady breeze throughout the day to keep it brisk, and almost no shelter for teams and refs between matches. So standard early spring in the Northeast.

Should be character-forming for all involved.

Sydney Junior Gala Day 1 on Sunday.

Entering my second season here and am again amazed at the scale of Junior club scene size.

2 glorious weeks of 2x half games per team against different opposition - to grade teams into their divisions for the season.

I know the player and team numbers are declining, but the numbers of teams and games in these gala days are still unreal. The appointments list is 11 pages long!

26C and sunny.

This weekend

N2N- AR2

Billingham v Huddersfield

12th v 14th death match. Huddersfield nearly gone and Billingham scrapping for survival with Hull Ionians (13th) and/ or perhaps Wimbledon in N2E (don’t ask).

How did you get on?

My knee came through with flying colours, which is an obvious relief! I was a bit rusty regarding speed of thought, but I got a positive review by the assessor.
