I've got one of them next month. But this weekend I am at Newley promoted Horsham.

Bloody stewards and their chuffing enquiry.

No way did Simple Verse impede Bondi Beach - bloody Australians! :)

Not that I'm bitter. Apart from that not a bad day. Only lost £12.

Arse!!!

Simple Verse has been awarded the win in the St Leger.

Double Arse!!!

The bookie still has my "winnings"

Had an email last night.
Warwickshire is struggling this Saturday.......................

We currently have 19 senior, colts and school first team games uncovered for this Saturday, with 59 refs unavailable.

Bump ...

My programme for the next 9 days (someone thinks that I have enough shirts, and assessment cards):

Sat Offshore (IoW) Level 10
Sun U19 Friendly
Mon Schools U14 Development Festival (New Rules of Play to learn)
Wed Army Level 8, evening ko
Fri Vets Friendly, evening ko (will have to stay off the ale)
Sat am Schools Level 8
pm Level 9
Sun U19 Level 7

Followed by an afternoon's refereeing Tag Rugby on Wednesday, playing (Lock) in the evening.

A good programme for an up-and-coming young referee - no age discrimination here then!

I think its high time you become SO1 J4 (Photocopying) at MOD Andover. All that sounds far to much hard work

If people will play games during massive World Cup games, then it's no surprise there's a shortage of Refs surely.

This weekend

Yorkshire 2 - Level 8

Roundhegians (Leeds) v Old Grovians (Bradford)

OG promoted last year. 'Hegians jobbing Y2 side who pull up no trees. Nice pitch, recent drainage works means Somme like conditions are a thing of the past.

Today little railway trip for Millom v Furness south Cumbrian L8 Derby.
Should be fun early kickoff so people can get back to watch the Aus v Wales game apparently.
It'll be the superleague grand final at my club!

This weekend I will be attending my nephew's wedding on the Saturday (yes I know!)

On Sunday I shall be attending a sporting event within the capacity of a normal person's wallet. England v New Zealand at the KC Stadium.

More chance of beating NZ than their RU counterparts unfortunately. Hopefully the other Burgesses will perform better than Sam.

I'll be at the club, 1.00pm building the bonfire ready for Thursday then into the bar for the final.
Just been having the usual kick and clap debate in the working men's club. They couldn't answer my question
"since when has a 40-20 kick become an awesome rugby league skill?"
I see players kick the ball and then the crowd clap!
What's that all about?
We used to do that but now our crowds groan and shout why are you kicking it?
I love the RL/RU banter

We drove through a village near Chichester and, fair dinkum, the bonfire must have been 20 metres high with a sign saying "no more rubbish needed please".

Do you still burn an effigy of poor old Guy Fawkes? Isn't it time to forgive & forget?

The way things currently are, he's likelier getting blamed for not succeeding rather than actually trying

My sister tried celebrating GF in San Francisco. She gave the firemen hell when they came and put it out.

St Peter's School in York used to not have a bonfire etc. There was a rule about not celebrating the hanging, drawing and quartering of old boys.

Catholics blowing up Parliament is not as popular as it should be!
