This caught my eye today
2017 Law
[LAWS]
10.4(j) Tackling the jumper in the air. A player must not tackle nor tap, push or pull the foot or
feet of an opponent jumping for the ball in a lineout or in open play.
Sanction: Penalty kick[/LAWS]
2018 Law
[LAWS]9.17. A player must not tackle, charge, pull, push or grasp an opponent whose feet are off the
ground[/LAWS].
I think they amount to the same thing, so I haven't put this in my table of differences.
But I think the new wording is subtly different - cast your mind back to the Lions and the infamous Sinckler PK that was decisive in the third test ---
On RR.COM the consensus was that the PK was wrong but don't you think the PK is easier to give under the new wording than it was under the old...
so perhaps the Law has shifted a little
