Gentle reminder that of the people who have predicted every week so far we are still waiting for Robert Burns, L'irlandais, TheBFG, collybs, bignij, duncanb and Simon Smith.

The dog ate my homework will not be accepted. See me in my room after prep!

I think I'll compete for last place so....

Wales by 35
Scotland by 3
England by 10

You'll have to go a long way to beat me! And I'm not trying for last!

Is there a penalty score for having missed a week?
Perhaps being given the worst other guess for each match for the week he missed?
Which, remarkabley, would put Adam on 90 and not in last place.

Penalty for a missed week is being entered as a 0 score (draw). So it's not so harsh.

Isn't a nil score the same as predicting them exactly correct, or have I misinterpreted the scoring system? Which isn't too surprising!:)

Week4 scores.jpg

If it were within my gift I would award bonus points to scarletjack who called both Wales/Italy and France/England spot on this weekend. Hope you had money on it.

A nil score is the same as calling it a draw, so for example you would score 2 points after Eng beat France by 2 but 21 after Wales beat Italy by 21

so how about putting in a score for the "non-entry" player. i.e. what is the current score if you didn't play each week?

Fairly straightforward

Week1
England won by 7
Wales won by 2
France won by 18 TOTAL = 27

Week2
Eng by 4
Wal by 14
France/Ire draw TOTAL = 18

Week 3
Ire by 32
Wal by 7
Fra by 6 TOTAL = 45

Week 4
Wal by 21
Ire by 18
Eng by 2 TOTAL = 41

So if you didn't enter a score for any of those weeks you would get the total score.

If you hadn't entered at all you would be on 121

You'll see in my table I have a 'Zero' which is the score you would have if you had a 0 prediction for every game.

Another option to add penalty for missing games is that the total weeks score (as shown above) should be added in for each game missed probably. So if you missed week four you would have 41 entered for all games which is an away team win of 41 points. Would possibly be a bit too harsh in the other direction.

No easy answer, the way I see it, our comps a bit of fun, so why be overly punishing for being to busy to join in one week?
