The impact of the pandemic on the professional game is well-documented, but has it started to impact the amateur game?

I just got an email this morning that a 7s tournament scheduled for March 28 is cancelled, as the host school has put a halt to all club sports.

We're seeing more and more of our University games disappearing.
Club seems, thus far, unimpacted.

All teams from the worst-affected province in the Netherlands (North Brabant) have had their games cancelled, home and away, until further notice. A rugby development day there has also been cancelled... Tournaments are starting to look tentative, although they're a bit further off at the moment. The rest of the country is free to play, for now.

One U15 7s (tomorrow) cancelled, as a pupil at the host school is a confirmed case; although school has been clearance to continue normal activities, a large number of (but not all) visiting schools are, naturally, concerned at unnecessary spreading of the virus and have pulled out.

More cancellations recently have been due to flooded pitches (so far).

Mid Atlantic has cancelled all rugby until April 6.
Universities are sporadically cancelling.

As my club sits on top of the Welsh Premiership, I am expecting the league to be cancelled any day. I think this weeked will see the last games for a while.

That’s Wales v Scotland cancelled now too. The right decision at absolutely the wrong time IMO. Most fans have already travelled or are travelling. Should have been called off on Wednesday or earlier along with the other matches.

The union I referee for, and the other union my local club plays under, put a two week moratorium on everything.

MLR is on a 30-day hiatus, D1A (top level uni/collegiate) is done for the entire spring.
