Why can I never successfully save the edit to a post I have made?

The system allows me to change the text, but when I press "Save" it just sits there giggling at me and refusing to do anything until I get bored and resort to cancelling it and posting a correction below.

Perhaps the Reason for Editing (given as Lack of Trust) is deemed a violation of the forum rules?

Could you be correcting it around the time your allocated 30 minutes are up?

I am generally trying to edit within seconds of the post appearing - I type, read, post, and then immediately spot a typo that irritates me, or realise that I forgot the wonderfully pithy riposte I had planned - so I try to edit it almost immdiately - and it spurns me.
