Ref was a little too quick following the ball....ball in air nothing happening so delay briefly to watch for late hits etc.
That would be my advice to grass roots refs.
Obviously in this case the onus would be on the AR to catch that.

Yellow for me.

Agree with Decorily. If I saw that I'd probably give a yellow. Deliberate act of foul play, hand to face, low level of force/danger.

i don't think any players would argue with a YC for that.

Surprised that Karl Dixon didn't keep his eye on the #9 (he being an ex #9), but guess he was trusting his AR/TMO to pick that up.

Definite YC and PK where the ball lands - or 15m in from touch if it landed closer than that to the Touch Line
