No game today so and it's my last weekend in London before I head back to Aus. Figure I need to experience at least one soccer (sorry FOOTBALL) match so heading to 'the Den' this afternoon to see Millwall vs Cardiff City. I have been given a heads up that the supporters today aren't going to be anywhere near as polite and sporting as last week at Twickenham...

Only going to this fixture because my house mate is a long time supporter (Millwall) and assures me I will manage get out in one piece.

All I figure is game can't possibly be any worse than the Waratahs performance this morning!!!

Millwall vs Cardiff City.

ARE YOU MAD!!!!!!!!!!

Two of the worst behaved sets of supporters in the Football League.

I predict a riot, expect a LARGE police presence.

It'll all end in tears :nono:

Love it, you will certainly see a different type of 'fan'.

Do report back what SE London hospital food is like!

Millwall has the safest stadium in the UK, all because of the problems they used to have. There will be nothing near the stadium, stay out the pubs!

Seriously I've just driven past the police waiting to escort the coaches to the ground.

This is the FANS coaches not the players!

Probably an experience.

With luck you'll be able to tell your grandchildren about it.

You what? :wow: IIRC crowd violence at games between Millwall and Cardiff were so bad that they were banned for years.

I have this one on my iPods gym playlist. :D
Yes,

And nowadays the police presence is so high, the ground is the safest around. Outside the ground/in the pub, well that's a different story!

Made it home safe after a LOOOOOOOONG day. AWESOME experience and yes definitely a 'different' type of fan. Heard the word c**** more times in the first half than I had to date previously in my life

Day started with pie and mash in Peckham, I was pre-warned about the liquor, not bad but if you ever make it to the North Coast of NSW treat yourself to the Pie Cart experience in Lismore (first thing I am going to hook into when I arrive home on Saturday), then a few rough Carlsbergs in the ground out of plastic bottles :( (I clearly understand why) before taking our seats in the Southern Upper (opposite end to away fans) just before kick-off. Fairly slow and boring first half and I felt Cardiff had the better half and that they may have run away with it in the second half...

Missed the first Cardiff goal just after the re-start (still finishing off a few more rough Carlsbergs - and could tell it wasn't a home goal by the distant roar of celebration) and this incident http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-12797244 :wow:
Anyway Millwall finally got 'some' movement and a little ticker from their midfield and started to return a bit of fire with the game swinging a number of times with 6 goals in the 2nd 45 minutes with some very nice finishes and near misses.

All in all 3-3 probably fair result and one that saved the police (and possibly myself) from a lot of grief as well. Would definitely visit the DEN again

Are you out of Lismore? We have a couple of baseball teams heading up there in the next week or so. Does it ever stop raining in the Northern Rivers region?

Yep from Lismore. Returning on Friday (25th) after 4 months abroad. From all reports it has been raining more often than not over the last 6-7 months, a little frustrating - can't remember our last unaffected cricket season due to rain

Baseball - No 1 field is very good, others can hold a bit of water but should be fine if they are cut close and prepared properly, which they usually are for the rep tournaments.

Sounds like you'll be up just in time for the start of our FNC rugby season
