If I live 5 years longer, but spend an accumulative 5 years of my life pumping iron; is there any net gain?.....or just net pain?

In short:

Run then lift is better than run only, lift only, or lift then run.
Alternatively dont do either but keep drinking.

You can have a long life, or a fun life. Your choice.

Everyone - except you, Bryan and DrSTU!

Dont put me in with the 2 juice heads. I do it b/c otherwise I'd be FatRef out there. Were it not for this refereeing gig I'm be doing something way more interesting like Zumba classes with hot moms, or doing a lot of yoga. You know how many hot chicks do yoga relative to the ones that weight train!?

(I'm kidding about the Zumba. BUT I would do yoga more regularly!).

I enjoy lifting, it is good fun and like Bryan's article shows, it has benefits beyond those commonly considered.

A good e-book is this one on HIIT from M&F, which gives a bit of info on how to mix HIIT with weight training for best results, and also goes into diet and nutrition strategies and provides research to look at as well. Link to a free sample here https://uk-mfbooks-pdf.dpdcart.com/ and I think the full book is there too. Although I bought it on the app to read on the train to work, which is a different link.

I find lift then run is better for me. Or to be more specific lift then metcon.

Christ I must be all of 95Kg, hardly juice head material. Not gonna lie though I do love lifting heavy weights and my Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fight sessions.

The key to it all is finding what you find fun and do that; I personally hate running or anything like that so I avoid it like the plague!
