Whilst looking at the clip in the below thread - I saw this...

Even if time was up, I don't think I'd finish the match on that - and give the opposing team options. Would I be right?

We judge intent all the time though.
Last week a player accidentally knocked me over. We all laughed. If I had judged it was deliberate there would have been less fun :)

Correct, I believe they changed the law after that particular game, i'm sure one of the stato's will come out with full details :wink:

When time is up, if asked, I always say "last legal play" :wink:

Barnsey "the game must restart".

I think he gave a scrum to the opposition for kicking the ball straight out, or might have given the lineout.

Did the opposition then go onto score and win?

You would; same as with an squint lineout or an early push at the scrum. A restart has to be successful (lead to open play) before the game can end.
