You think he had a bigger influence on his team / the game than Sean Fitzpatrick?

Very hard to judge that of course, but I would think so, without researching I am sure RMC has scored more match winning / turning tries than Fitzy. and although both lead/led by actions & example, RMC in my view is a more effective player.
RMC is definately more popular in NZ, Fitzy being an Aucklander was always up against it in popularity stakes in Canterbury.
Re influence on the Game - no contest there RMC wins that - look at the reams of paper & terabytes of posts about play.
