I only joined this site after the RWC to read refs opinions on "that red card" but I've stayed and gained a great deal of both enjoyment and information.
Todays 6N were the first real top quality international games I've watched since joining and it has brought a whole new dimension to the enjoyment of Rugby.
Watching the seeming ease with which Nigel Owen strolled around the park and yet always seemed to end up in the right position for making the important calls demonstrated the diffence between a good and bad ref (I imagine....although obviously thats not all there is to it). The constant concentration he demonstrated and the interaction with the players both formally and informally was truly educational.
Amazingly in about 40 years of watching the game I'd never noticed the ref....probably as it should be, but lovers of the game out there are missing a treat.
