Team red kick off to start match .
Ball travels 8 meters with force ( will easily make 10 meters )

2 possible scenarios .

Scene 1 .
Player from blue team has run after kick is taken in 2 meters from 10 meter line
And the ball has bounced off his leg with force and gone into touch . .

Scene 2 .
Ball has bounced off his leg , & bounced back into hands of kickers hands & the kicker has managed to run rest of pitch & score try . .

How would you restart match .
Have players from blue elected to play , just because they were hit by ball with in their 10 meter zone

Scene 1 : lineout red
Scene 2 : kickoff by blue after try scored

Yes, they have elected to play, unsuccessfully.

And if it had bounced on 8 and gone over the 10, that would be play on as well.

Ball has to cross 10m line; Kick again or scrum option to opposition.

No it does not. The non-kicking tram can "accept" the kick by playing the ball.

2018 version of LotG does not mention the option of the receiving team to elect to play the ball inside 10m:

12.6. The ball must reach the 10-metre line. Sanction: The non-kicking team has the option of the kick being retaken or a scrum.

However, that has been the case for the past 40 years and as “nothing has changed” as a result of the new law book this must still be the case.

Crossref, what hass your analysis found?

12.7 covers recieving team playing it before 10m.

"If the ball reaches the 10-metre line but is then blown back or if an opponent plays the ball before it reaches the 10-metre line, play continues."

This is crazy, it has always been receiver opted to play the ball, if he knocks it on before the ball has reached the 10m, sad luck he knocked it on, if he does not want to play the ball then don't touch it.

But theres no equivalent to 12.7 anymore in the new laws.

So can the opposition play it before it goes 10 or not anymore ?

12.7 is the 2018 Law Book

The ball must reach the 10-metre line. Sanction: The non-kicking team has the option of the kick being retaken or a scrum.

If the ball reaches the 10-metre line but is then blown back or if an opponent plays the ball before it reaches the 10-metre line, play continues.

The 12.7 that Menace quotes is a 2018 Law
