Penalty kick goes into Touch In Goal

Hi,

Just a quick question.

What happens if from a penalty kick, the ball bounces in-field but goes out of play through Touch-In-Goal.

I brought the play back for a scrum at the point of the kick, but I have a vague feeling that it should have been something else, like a scrum at 5m in from the try line in line with where the ball went into touch.

It has happened a couple of times and each time I do the same thing, but is it right?

Thanks

Sean

Current Referee grade:
Level 7
Law 22.8 applies, even to a PK, unless it was a "kick at goal": defenders get option of 22 Drop Out or scrum, their throw in, from where it was kicked.

I don't understand. Do you mean the "Laws" link at the top of this page?

If so, when I then click on "English", I am directed to the proper place on the irblaws website and all the laws are there.

That's what I do but the last numbered law in the LH column is 23 and that's partially cut off.

Davet, there's no scroll facility within that display.

PS. I get the same on my desktop aswell as my iPad.

On the iRB site the frame at the left showing the Laws by number does have a scroll bar.

last numbered law in the LH column is 23

Remarkable - since there are only 22 Laws.

Are you looking at some special site?
